OMG!! Alpacas are so adorable!! And oh so soft!!!! They had all kinds of items there made from alpaca wool. I want it all!! Warmer than traditional wool and as soft as cashmere!! Plus there is a whole industry in the USA and items are made here!!
I had no idea how many farms there were just in Michigan. I hope everyone starts supporting this industry!
You should have seen them laying in front of the fans. They looked very spoiled! It was an indoor event but every pen had real sod, large fans and bags of hay hanging. They don't even have to bend down to eat. Pretty social to. Click the link below for more info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpaca http://www.americasalpaca.com/
Come look at life through the eye's of a middle-age woman as I try to work full time and start a tiny business. AKA expensive hobby!! :)AND deal with aging. Physically, of course, NOT mentally!
I'll be serious sometimes, but mostly I'll try to be humorous. Everyone should laugh everyday!
Once in awhile I'll ask strange questions to see, first, if anyone will answer them and second to make people think. But if nobody is reading this blog I'm sure they will just float around in cyberspace.
I am a HUGE cheapskate! I love dollar stores(yeah I said it), rummage sales and all that good stuff! My car is a 13 year old compact because I refuse to pay a car payment OR the insurance for a new one. It gets me where I have to go safely and securely with great gas mileage.
I'll also write about my furbabies, introductions below, because they are absolutely the funniest. They are also my family.
I will also post my favorite websites, cool items I find, interesting facts and things that make you say "Hmm".
And on a more serious note-PLEASE check out my other blog, Grassroots Campaign, or click on my profile.
I am trying to get inhumane animal traps banned in Michigan. NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN!!

~~QUIET DOG ID TAGS-Use the round key identifiers. They come in fun colors. May have to work at it a little. But they will go on.
~~Zip tie an old insulated winter glove on your outdoor faucet to keep pipes from freezing
~~Use an over-the-door vinyl shoe organizer in the bathroom!
It holds hairspray, handtowels-anything you want in a hurry!
~~Use travel size plastic bottles to carry condiments for your lunch
~~Get a small document holder to carry maps in your car
~~Armour All works great for cleaning purses
~~TO HANG PICS ON WALLS-Put a nail half way through one end of a wood yardstick-hang picture on nail-hold up to wall where you want it-push gently so nail in yardstick makes a mark on the wall. Put a nail where the mark is and you have a perfectly placed pic-NO MEASURING-NO EXTRA NAIL HOLES!!
~~Now look what you can do with AlkaSeltzer........
Clean a toilet Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous
Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).
~~To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet , simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to A boil on stove top.
~~IF YOU USE DRYER SHEETS First pull out your lint trap and run under faucet
and see if water runs through it!
If not-scrub with hot water and dishsoap with a brush. Now test it again! Quite a difference! This will reduce fire risk AND extend the life of your dryer!
~~COLD WEATHER TIPS~~
Do not go anywhere without those little air activated handwarmers sold for hunters in sporting goods stores!! Put them in coat pockets, pants pockets, gloves or even in a hat! They can last up to 8 hours. Make sure to keep some in your glovebox for emergencies!!
~~STORING JEWELRY~~ Use stackable ice cube trays. Store them in plastic boxes or a drawer. Easy to organize by style, color etc.
