I really need to shout out to the whole world about the best pain reliever I have ever used! I was falling asleep one day, Dr. Oz was on, and he was doing a segment about painful joints and the best thing to do for them. Okay.....I'm awake!
You see, I have very bad arthritis. My whole family has suffered from it. My sister was crippled because of it. So.....let's see what Dr. Oz has to say! Of course, I was expecting to hear "glucossamine" which I already take daily. But no. It was a gel. Really? Are you kidding me?
Yup. A gel. Arniflora Arnica gel to be exact.
So....I get up....sluggishly stumble to the computer to do my own research on this "gel".
Well, guess what! It seems to be some sort of miracle stuff! I have to try it:)
It was thee best decision I have made in a long time.
I had pulled a muscle in my neck coloring those horrible gray roots. It was extremely painful. The no sleep kind of painful. Last time it took my neck 2 months to heal. Could not wait for my gel to arrive!!!
Well, I get home from work, see my package, and rip it open like a 5 year old Christmas morning!!!
Hmmm......no smell. How odd. Oh well. I rub it on and 5 minutes later I noticed my neck felt about 90% better. You see this arnica gel not only relieves pain, it repairs and heals. So I put it on a few more times over a couple days and guess what? Neck was 100% again! The arthritis it my hip? Forget about it!!! Feelin' good!!!
I beg everyone to just google arnica. Do your own research like I did. It is safe for 2 year olds and also pets. How wonderful is that?
No animal testing or by products.
Trainers and pro athletes use it.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:-Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm;- Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights,I Want It Now,Someone Else Is To Blame,I'm A Victim.Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Great Foundation Finds

As a woman closing in on the big 5-0, with large pores, dry skin, dark circles and those annoying fine wrinkles(OMG will the list EVER end?), I am constantly trying new foundations. The ones available to everyone at drugstores are the ones I mostly try. They are in most women's budgets.

I have two new ones that I really like! I use them together. The first is Revlon PhotoReady foundation(spf 20). It really reduces my pores. It doesn't feel heavy at all, yet gives great coverage, even for dark under eye circles:) It also has a very sanitary, easy to control pump.

Then I usually follow with a loose powder to set the foundation. However....I am now using ANOTHER foundation for this job. It is Revlon ColorStay Aqua(spf 13). A mineral foundation. It has a self contained brush in the lid, very sanitary. It also has sparklies for a luminescent look. And you really feel the "aqua" part when you apply it. You don't need much if you use it to finish your foundation.

This combination seems to last all day. However, summer is around the corner, and then we will have the sweat test. I have had good luck in the summer with ColorStay products, so I am confident this one will be just fine.

Aging sucks! But thanks to Revlon we can fool some people! LOL!! With everything on the market and all the technology, we can cover and shrink 10 years away!!! When that doesn't work...accessorize!!! Take the focus away from you with clothes and jewelry!!!LOL!!!!

I want to share another awesome discovery with everyone! Sprayaway Glass Cleaner!!! Wow is this stuff great!

I have been using Invisible Glass foam(in most automotive departments and stores). Don't get me wrong..that is good too. But Sprayaway is better!! I wanted something to keep in the car. I saw this by the Windex, it was the same price, so I tried it. AMAZING! Plus it is a little cheaper than Invisible Glass.

I then Googled it and found the reviews for it on Amazon. Everyone agrees with me!

A Wonderful Christmas Eve

I had my sisters kids over my house for Christmas Eve. It is going to be our new tradition. For quite a few years they would go to the nursing home to celebrate Christmas with their mom, who passed away in March. She suffered a stroke at a very young age and spent the last 8 years in a home.

Her one joy in her life was her grandson Eddie. He's 4 and full of life. Her face lit up whenever he was there. Tonight he was the 5th generation to play on the family piano. The piano my sister loved.

To make things even more perfect...we had deer come up to the house to snack on some birdseed. He got to see them. I told him they were reindeer taking a quick break. How perfect was that?

I hope I did my sister proud. I think it was one of the best Christmas Eves ever...at least until next year!!!

Well, I washed all of our throws, preparing for our chilly Michigan fall.

It has been TWO weeks and every time I grab one I can still smell it.......aahhhhh. I think I put a little extra in now just because it smells so good.

Now if they would just come out with a carpet freshener. Hey...that reminds me! I have throw rugs I can wash! Yea!!!!!

FYI TIP....I have used liquid fabric softener mixed with water in my potpourri burner

Freshens the whole house. It smells like you have been doing laundry all day..LOL!

More Waste of Taxpayers Money in Michigan

I just need to vent a little(please read the article). My great state of Michigan, which has a ban on baiting deer, is wasting money going after someone that has deer eating from his bird feeder. The case was tossed but they are wasting even more $$ by appealing the decision.

They expect this man to prevent it somehow. Hmmm. Does that mean everyone with fruit trees, gardens, bird feeders, etc, should expect to end up in court?

The deer are actually owned by the state. So maybe THEY should control them. Maybe people should sue the state of Michigan when their gardens are destroyed. Or when their vehicle is totaled from hitting one of the state's deer. They obviously feel this is possible.

Twist ties and duct tape!!!! Two of the best inventions EVER! Notice how they have not changed? Ever?
That's because they are already perfect. No room for improvement.

Not what you expected, huh? You thought I was going to write about chocolate or diamonds, didn't ya?

Well I save all my twist ties that I can. I use them to tie cords, especially on seasonal appliances like fans and space heaters when they are packed away. And all those cords for media? All streamlined! Woohoo! Cords in the junk drawer are nice and neat, even though I have NO idea what they all go to. LOL!!

And the best thing I ever did with duct tape(I have a few colors) was fix this annoying hole inside a purse. Quick, easy and out the door. No more fishing for items under the lining!

Oh I just love my twist ties and duct tape! I can conquer the world with you by my side:)

I got a bunch of easel back necklace displays for 10 cents each. It really pays to work in retail sometimes:)

I plan on covering them with black satiny material and trimming with pink fur. I can't wait to do one so I can post the pic.

So I am set on jewelry displays for my booth. Keeping everything pink and black. I even plan on getting a black pop up awning and hanging pink lights underneath. I have a black banner with pink letters to hang in front. Now I have to get black or gray indoor/outdoor carpeting to cover cords and give off the right ambience.

Ok. I've been wearing dollar store readers for a few years now. They are so perfect for a mizer like myself, that also has to color coordinate everything. I have readers for every outfit and every occasion. HOWEVER.........I found them so inconvenient AND highly breakable. They were also making my eyes WORSE. I couldn't even read prices in stores. Which to a cheapskate, I mean MIZER, like myself, that is a sin.

So...I broke down and went to an eye doctor, aka eyeglass salesman.

Let's just say my insurance was geared more toward prices in the 1970s. My mouth dropped when I heard the total. They are probably worth more than my good old compact car!!! Hell, just the lenses are!!!

Anyway.....I got those fancy dancy progressive lenses. Yes. I can see again and the glasses actually stay on. But here is where the fun begins.

First...I can't stop wearing them low on the nose(kinda sounds like a rap song) They sort of DO NOT work that way.

Second....If I move too fast things kinda go wacky for a second. Especially my computer screen. They make even more fancy dancy lenses for this purpose, but I said NO! Can't fathom what THEY would have cost!

Third...Where the hell did my peripheal vision go?

Fourth...I'm not sure I WANT to see everything THIS good!

Alright. I know it takes time to get used to these. Everyone has told me this. But I hope I don't get pulled over and asked to walk a straight line. I could be the 1st person arrested for failing a sobriety test and be sober! LOL!!!!! I can see them smacking their breathylizer and assuming it was broken. "Sorry ma'am. We're gonna have to take ya down to the station while we check out our equipment."

Boy does getting old SUCK!!

Keep the sun off your skin as much as possible. Actually wear more clothing consisting of loose fitting breathable fabric.

Run cold water on your wrists every hour

Use covers at night with a hot water bottle filled with ice water. Put it behind your ankles or knees.

Put an ice pack under your left arm. Close to the heart.

Wear cooling bandanas around your neck(carotid artery)

The point is to keep your major pulse points cool

Or be like me~sit your butt in the airconditioning or right in front of a fan with a nice cool drink:) Being out in this kind of weather will cause wrinkles girls!! Hot sun is VERY bad! Bad, I say!

I have been thinking about wearing false eyelashes for about 2 years now. You know how the eyelashes get thinner as you mature(politically correct term for old). I have such a hard time with those horrible mascara wands. HATE THEM! But 'tis a necessity.

Well I bought the new L'Oreal Telescoping Explosion today. The (magic)wand is awesome.

It's the little round ball one and boy can you get each and every lash. I put a test swipe on my wrist and it will not wipe off.

I really suggest giving it a try!

I have included a pic for everyone, because, if you are like me, I stand there staring at everything trying to remember which one I wanted to try:)

NEW ROAD RULES AND VEHICLE OPTIONS

~Four way stops~It is now like a game. First person to hit the gas pedal has the right-of-way
~Yellow light~Now is the same as a left turn arrow
~Blinkers now come as an OPTION on all new vehicles
~Senior citizens can have dealers install a new cruise control that does not go over 35 mph. Dealers have stated that seniors that get the cruise option usually opt out on the blinkers.
~Bigger vehicles now have the right-of-way(adopted from waterway rules)
~If you are talking on your phone you must slow down and use 1 1/2 lanes.
~If you do have the blinker option on your vehicle, you may use it to let other drivers know you are getting over right NOW!
~You may leave your bright lights on at all times as long as YOU can see. You will never be at fault in any way if a blinded driver crosses the line and hits you.

Hi everyone~

Doesn't it seem like everything breaks or needs some sort of repair on the weekend? Or when you are short on cash?

We like to keep things well stocked for emergencies in our house. Its like a mini hardware store around here.

I was very excited when I came across honest reviews of Mighty Fixit. Seems to be something that really works for quick electrical and plumbing repairs. I honestly can't wait to get it. I am hoping for a leak in a pipe to test it out myself. LOL!

HOWEVER~~receiving it seems to be the problem. I ordered it directly from the Mighty Fixit website on 6/1/10.

On 6/20/10 I emailed their customer support to inquire if it had been shipped.

I did receive a quick response, which is great. But they informed me that it was out of stock.

Excuse me! It's the ONLY THING THEY SELL!!!

No email to inform me of this. My money was in stock for them!!! That's like Dairy Queen not having ice cream. Or McDonalds not having hamburgers! Their ads are still everywhere, yet they have none? This stuff better be worth it!

If anyone is thinking about ordering it, I suggest emailing them and get it in writing, that it is in stock first. Don't call them. You want proof of their reply.

I carry huge purses. Kinda hard to find things sometimes. Ok~ALL the time. I found this cute little LED light on Ebay. Its the size of a credit card. Yeah, I know~reduce my loyalty cards, then add something else. ANYWAY~~ The center is shaped like a light bulb and when you flip it up~you can see!!! Just ordered it, so when I get it I will give a review on it. It was only .99 w/free shipping. So if it breaks I won't cry TOO much. LOL!

I really hope it works 'cuz I am SUCH a gadget geek!

I received mine. Very lightweight and easy to use. Kind of an orange color light but works great in the dark without disturbing anyone. Enough to find what you need in your purse. It will fit perfectly in your wallet. Mine came in a very nice heavy holder that it can be kept in and put in a purse pocket. So far I like it. Seems kind of fragile. May not take any abuse. But if kept in wallet I don't foresee any problem. Just don't let kids play with it.

It's sad but it's reality. Just some safety reminders for women for this time of year. Everyone is rushed and not always thinking clearly.

These were written by a police officer.

Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself
of these things to do
in an emergency situation...
This is for you,
and for you to share
with
everyone you know.

After reading these 10 crucial tips,
forward them to someone you care about.
It never hurts to be careful
in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do :
The elbow is the strongest point
on your body.
If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide.
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you....
Chances are that he is more interested
in your wallet and/or purse than you,
and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car,
kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole
and start waving like crazy..
The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.
This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars
after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit
(doing their chequebook, or making a list, etc.
DON'T DO THIS!)
The predator will be watching you, and this
is the perfect opportunity for him to get in
on the passenger side, put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..

If someone
is in the car
with a gun
to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
Repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine
and speed into anything, wrecking the car.
Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat
they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes
bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body
in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting
into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:
look around you,
look into your car,
at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van,
enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims
by pulling them into their vans while the women
are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car
parked on the driver's side of your vehicle,
and the passenger side... If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work, and get a
guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.

(And better paranoid than dead.)

women out of their homes thinking that someone
dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it,
but have had several calls by women saying that
they hear baby's cries outside their doors
when they're home alone at night.

10. Water scam!
If you wake up in the middle
of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a
burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your
outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and
then attack.

I am always trying new things for Christmas. I have 5 different holiday themes that I switch between.

Right now I'm doing purple and silver. The more funky and modern the better.

This year I changed my tree topper. I'm in love with it. It's one of those crystal safety pin trees.

I'm also including a pic of my chandelier tree I did several years back. I really thought outside the box on that one! It was BEAUTIFUL with all the lights off and just the tree and crystal shining. Everyone that saw it, loved it, and still talk about it.

I also did a silver tinsel tree-very retro-with purple lights, a couple years ago.

A dear friend lost her beloved and devoted fur baby Jake today. She loved him so much and she was with him at the end, telling him how much she loved him.
So everyone give your fur babies a little extra attention and love, because they are not with us long enough. It's a cruel joke of mother nature to give these wonderful babies such a short life span. Never take the time with them for granted.

I Love My Cats, REALLY I Do!

As I'm sitting here typing on this blog-my wonderful Lotto has decided it is time to mess with mama! He's sitting right next to me, right now. We're talking about a cat that can open drawers and doors. Not big drawers, those plastic organizer ones. He's taken an eyelash curler, from one in the bathroom, and played with it. He has also taken my BC pills out to bat around. I was glad we didn't have company!!

Right now he's going after pens, tools, bills(he can keep those!) He's trying to take my glasses off my face(he also does that at night when I'm reading in bed). Oh, now the headphones!! Little shit's purring the whole time!!!!

WHY? WHY DOES HE DO THIS???!!!

He gets in these moods once in awhile. Don't tell me he's doing it for attention, he gets lots of that!

Peroxide VS Bleach

This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana (a doctor's wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me:

"I would like to tell you of the benefits of thatPlain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does bleach cost? My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide."Have you ever smelled bleach in a doctor's office? NO!!! Why? Because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor's offices, and ask them if they use bleach at home. They are wiser and know better!"Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40's? It's chlorine, folks! And it was used to kill our troops.

"Peroxide was invented during WWI. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals. Please think about this:
1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria..

5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.

9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

10. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bathTo help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

11. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

12. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.

Seda's First Big Public Walk

We took Rebee and Seda for a real long walk on the Trailway in Flushing.

It's beautiful this time of year!!

It was Seda's first long public walk. Started out kinda bad but she ended up settling down. We came across about 30 other dogs, joggers, walkers and bikers. No problems!! I was very happy with her. Reb's been there alot. She's never a problem. I was more worried about her getting worn out because of her age but she proved mom wrong. She still had energy when we were done. I, on the other hand, found out I am out of shape!!!

These big box stores need to get bigger checkout counters!! Just got home from Dollar xxxx and the MAIN THING I went there for was not in my bag!!!!! Four pair of reading glasses on the counter and the cashier totally missed them because of all the junk they have sitting there. These things are small enough-they don't need to put impulse purchase items there. Everyone that walks in there makes impulse purchases anyway! We as customers should not have to do their job. We are busy getting our money/debit cards out and figuring out which way to swipe it!

Just had to vent!!!

We had a little fun at work this week do to the Michigan-Michigan State game this weekend. I'm true blue and Karen is a Sparty. We tried to one up each other all week! I put GO BLUE!! as the screen saver on the computer she uses. I put a jersey shaped bottle cozy on her back window wiper blade(she drove all around with it on there!LOL). I sent someone to tape a sign on her back that said GO BLUE! Had her for a couple minutes until another Sparty told her it was there!! She put a donut in front of me with green frosting and a big white S! She called my extension CONSTANTLY blaring the State fight song!

We laughed so hard even when one of our evil attempts failed!

I'm looking forward to April Fools Day!! She didn't work there last year-and I hold the record with 22 people I got last year. And YES! I keep score!

Monday morning could be VERY interesting!

I went and got a routine blood test this week. I didn't know my doctor also put "urine test" on the referral!! I cracked up and told the nurse it had been over 25 years since I was asked to do that! And that time I was praying for "negative"!!! Boy it is so hard to hit that tiny cup! Then I had to pour it in a little vial!!! There was NO place to set anything down! A sink, toilet and trashcan! I'm holding the vial(because it kept rolling off the back of the toilet) in one hand and the cup in the other, peeing! So far, so good. Then came the vial. Why can't they make the cup with a little spout? Standing over the toilet-I start pouring into the vial. Guess what? They don't really hold much!!! YES!! Overflowing all over! Now remember-there is no place to set anything-I'm dripping all over(vial, cup,hands)-trying to get papertowel!! I'm just standing there!! I'm wondering where the Candid Camera crew were hiding! And how good their editing crew were!

Well, I did survive and made it through! But what happened to peeing in a cup with your name on it then leaving it on a tray for the nurse?!

Just give us somewhere to set are little urine chemistry set!!

I tell myself-just a few more minutes-then I'll actually get something else done.

Now what are the odds that ALL the clocks in the house are wrong-because it's only been 15 minutes(I SWEAR!!) and they moved ahead 2 hours!!

I guess I better add "call clock repair guy" to my list of chores!!

Anyone else have malfunctioning clocks? Know a good clock repair guy? Is there even such a person? Hopefully they charge by the clock and NOT per hour!

Maybe it's a conspiracy! There's a little "clock elf" running around changing all of them while I'm at my computer! I thought I heard giggling!!

Went and got my breasts smushed this morning. Don't worry~I'm not posting any pics!! I always go first thing in the a.m. and I am usually the first patient. I was half asleep still but BOY did I wake up fast!

That machine was ice cold when I put my breast on it! Then came the pressure!! YEAH! I'm awake!!

Get your mammo girls!! It's worth it!!

Well~ I did today!

I had been wanting a yo-yo for awhile so I got one! So what if I'm forty-something!!

What a blast!!

And there was a bonus! It drove 3 out of my 4 pets crazy! Hilarious!!

GOOD TIMES!

Buy a toy for yourself and act like a kid! No matter what your age is!!

Ban Inhumane Traps!

This topic is the most near and dear to my heart!

If you ever see an animal in a conibear trap I feel sorry for you if it doesn't bother you!

I can't believe that in todays society that they are still legal!

My biggest wish before I die is to see these traps banned 100%. I am starting in my state of Michigan!

I've made flyers-business cards-t shirts-window clings! I believe if people are educated about them they will be banned. I don't think people know trapping is still practiced!

PLEASE do the research as I have! It will break your heart!!

I'm pleading with Michigan animal lovers to email their state reps and request a ban on conibear(spine crushing), leghold traps and snares.

This is NOT anti-hunting!!! Trapping is NOT hunting! It is cruelty!!
